Cosmetics (Europe)

On 30 November 2009 the new Cosmetic Products Regulation (EU Regulation 1223/2009) was adopted and replaces the Cosmetics Directive.  This regulation reinforces product safety, taking into account the latest technological developments (including the possible use of nanomaterials).  Most of the provision of this new regulation will apply as from 11 July 2013.

On behalf of our clients GRS can:

  • Compile the mandatory Product Information Pack (PIP)
  • Assess all material to ensure compliance (to include recommendations for wording in line with current legislation).
  • Conduct mandatory European Product Safety Assessments
  • Liaise with relevant authorities
  • Act as 'Responsible Person' based in the UK

In readiness for the 11 July 2013 deadline, GRS can also:

  • update existing European Product Safety Assessments, and
  • provide Pharmacovigilance support

to ensure compliance with the Cosmetic Products Regulation (EU Regulation 1223/2009).
